Feel free to download these images to use in your Art Therapy practice. Various directives can be used with cut-outs from magazines, such as vision boards and recovery-oriented or motivational images. Having words presented in front of the client can help guide them in their self-expression if it is challenging to pick up a marker and create on the spot. Some clients enjoy using both the cut-outs and then draw their own imagery around it. Having the jumping off point of words and images at our fingertips can be helpful.

I’ve been learning as an Art Therapy Intern that it’s useful to have images and words cut out before sessions so we can avoid triggering imagery or words with clients, and can even avoid the distraction of flashy articles.
